its like... L4D JUST came out though. We barely had time to really play it on top of the game feeling incomplete and now they are pushing out a sequel?

Valve is turning into Epic... and look at what happened to the unreal franchise when they got greedy.

Valve is releasing more content for L4D1. I do understand why they would release it as a separate game though and not a free/whatever update. Specifically because of the 360 owners, I'm pretty sure L4D is already pushing the memory limit on the 360 and that group of people would be pissed off to all hell if we got a free update and they had to buy a full game.

Agreed though, they should not be holding the PC games to the same restrictions as the consoles.

PC's (generally) cost more to start with, so trying to treat them as if they were a cartridge system or something is just being greedy.

Many are willing to pay for the expansion, but most of them are saying that "full" price would not be received well.

You know what they need to change before I even consider buy #2 is? Fix the stupid sever browser setup and the server network code or something. L4d has been a dog when it comes to games ending because of stupid connection issues. Valve needs to seriously fix that crap before I will buy a new game from them.

Well, if 37,150 people state they are not going to buy the sequel, and valve tries to sell L4D2 for the standard $50 price tag, do the math> ;)

A little under $1.9 million they could lose.

There is so much work that needs to be done to make L4D enjoyable again, it is not funny. If I don't see them fixing the 1st, then I am not buying the 2nd! :p

It would be nice if they kept expanding it beyond a SDK pack for user content. You don't need to do much, but they blew it in trying to make a whole new stand-alone game so close to the original.

I don't know if they ever knew that it would be as popular as it was. It was possible that this was the plan form almost Day 1....

What they should have done is possibly offer a discount, say half price, for anyone who owns L4D1. Games are going for $50 at release now, offering a new game at $25 if you already purchased teh original would be a potential boost in profit (if you could get both games for, say, $65 in a pak, you are more likely to get some people who were not thinking of geting the original.. That is an extra $15 for ABSOLUTELY NO WORK WHATSOEVER).

Anyway, we will see what they do.

Well, the griefing movement is really starting to kill the enjoyment factor in L4d. It sucks when you need to make sure you have all friends playing or at least an admin playing so griefers can be kicked/banned and the admin can spawn health packs if needed.

It really is a shame.
