He died on April 21, 1910. And now Mark Twain’s final book, The Autobiography of Mark Twain –kept under wraps in the University of California archives, as promised, for a full century–has hit the No. 1 spot on Amazon thanks to brisk preorders. The memoir, which is only the first of three volumes, does not go on sale until November 15.

This is exciting! It is un-edited... exactly as he left it! I can't wait to get my copy! Comments included are how contemporary he is. Timeless I would guess is a better word! :-)

Jack Black was saying that, of all the days that he would be releasing HIS new book, that this was the worst.
Even he would buy MT's book over his own! ;)

Really? Is Jack Black really releasing a new book? I like Jack Black but I somehow picture his life to be a series of sex, drugs and alcohol stories..... with maybe a few laughs. It might be fun to read, but yeah, he's no Mark Twain... ;)

My favorite is:
Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read! :D

Isn't that Groucho? Or are you just saying that's your favorite quote in general despite being in a thread about Mark Twain.
:D

OMG! You're right! That is groucho... My brain is failing me... working too hard lately... need rest... must rest brain... :o
Mark Twain did have a lot of dog quotes. This is the one I meant to post: ;)
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.

I'll get this book as well. Sounds like it will be a great read
