I think Hedge summarized this well via message: "That game is a total mind-numbing time waster".

It truly is, but I'm enjoying it. $9.99 via Steam. Anyone else playing this?

I got a couple of small unlocks last night. Not sure what all is available, but ... I've got about 3 hours in at this point, and I'm actually kinda liking it. I think it could have been easily made in Flash version though.

Yep. Played way too much to my wifes lament.

I have just about everything done except a full zen garden (I have 19 flowers and 2 mushrooms), night time zen, water zen, duplicate bean, 10th slot and some others.

The only challenges I really have not finished are the hard level whatchamacallits (like Fog and Roof).

Things that seem to work well? Wall-nuts with that extra crown thing around them. The corn-catapults, the frosty spitter guys, and floor spikes. YMMV. I would like to get the better spikes, but so many addons are kind of useless if you do not have enough slots to hold everything.

Oh, BTW, Watermelons with the frost-melon are great, but expensive!

I have not been playing this recently. Found an interesting side-scroller called Triene? (Tri-something). Kind of fun, actually.

But for $10? PvZ, with all the work and extras they put in it is definitely worth it. Much more stuff to do than your typical pop-cap game.

PS - Good to hear you got the message shift! I was wondering if it was you or your woman playing!! ;)

I got this for my son, and I am playing it too. His mom got him l4d and then took it away because it was too intense for a 10 year old... lol she is wicked smaat. This game is a blast, runs very well on my craptop and the unlocks keep it interesting.

I got it for him to make up for no zombie killing :) cause I am the brilliant parent lol

Thanks! $179 for PvZ and every Valve game plus some other stuff seemed like a steal and I needed to re-up on new games. One of my good friends in town inspired me .

Wow, if you did not have many, if any valve games, that was teh way to go.

Although I seem to remember you having TF2 or some other a while back. You may need to start gifting some duplicates....

(I am still looking for someone who does not have Half Life (1) )

I previously bought the Orange box, which had ... 7 games, I think? Peggle, a couple of Half Life games, TF2 and Portal.

This week, on inspiration from a friend, I bought the Valve game pack which was either $79 or $99, and included like 30 games, including all of the Counterstrike games, TF2, etc.

I also bought PvZ for $9.99 and another set of games, although I don't remember what (damn, I hope I didn't buy the pack with all the Civilation and X-com games!!) I can't recall how I got to $179. I know I bought the Super iD games pack with Commander Keen, the Quake series, Doom, etc.

I dunno.

Oofah.

I still own a lot of those, so buying the paks was tempting but not worth it.

If you bought the Civ paks, nice knowing you. We probably won't be hearing from you for a while.....

LOL

nah, my friend did, that's his schtick. i'm not into those kinds of games and often give them away when they come bundled with other things.

I got this and tried it. It's not too shabby. It's great for my kids and it definitely should have been just a Flash game because thats about what it looks like. :D

That is all it probably is!!!!

I think this is just a Popcap game they put a bit more work into. All the others are like simple puzzle games with a lot less work in them, but still at the same price.... (Bejeweled?)

Great game!! I finished it and it has replay value. My son, 9, has about finished it as well.
