Well, a bunch of new hats out there and the stupid way of getting them prompted someone to make a program. And its VERY popular it seems

Old news. I forget if it was here that someone posted it, but I have been using it on and off too.
BTW, don't you just love the "please don't hurt me" pose the guys are in at the end of a round now? ;)

yeah, it's funny.
I never knew about the program. I knew about idle servers....but then isaw posts saying how "the server" was increased to 15000 people. I'm like.... wtf?

I'd be leery on using this without the source code.

Even if the original file is months old and you have scanned it with a few AV scanners?

What makes you think an AV scanner is going to find a game key stealer? It's not a virus. It doesn't replicate. If it's a core function of the app itself, and you knowingly installed it, I doubt any AV scanner out there is going to recognize it as bad.

I dunno.

well, if it is a game key stealer, the creator has more than made himself public and I am sure out of the 15000+ people using this, a few of them would have looked into this file to find out the tricks (if any).

Maybe, but it is pretty much impossible to decompile an executable. Perhaps doing extensive memory examination while the program is running, or perhaps reconstruct every packet that flows through the port you specify. I don't know, I'm just paranoid of the interwebs.

Meh.
I am not going to jinx myself, but there seems to be too much out in the open about this and absolutely not one tag about a key stealer (yet).
This guy must have patience to wait 6 months on a 2 year old game to steal passwords. Again, knock on wood.

the only things i lost were every single duplicate of everything i already had AND i didnt ge any hats to boot.

The only thing i dont get is a "halo" hat lol It would be cool if i got devil horns though :)

That was kind of the point.
I don't think I earned anything from that Idle proggie, but having them clip items is a little poor. All you would have to have is a server up where people spawn in their own little isolated rooms and don't get kicked.
You could probably easily do a 32 peep server on that with minimum resources since lag would not be a problem.....
But whatever. I don't get a halo. I cried all night.
