Well, they acknowledged that they got it...

Thank you for your email. Feedback from New Yorkers and others is essential to my work as Governor, and it is important to me to know your views and issues of concern. Due to the volume of emails this office receives, it can take some time to provide a personal response to your correspondence. I want to assure you, however, that your email has been received, and will be read and shared with the appropriate members of my staff.

I encourage you to visit my website at http://www.ny.gov/governor/ (http://www.ny.gov/governor/), and please feel free to contact my office again about this matter or any other.

Once again, thank you, and warmest regards.

Sincerely,

Governor David A. Paterson
I'll wait for my personal response! When I email my state reps (and I do often) I usually get a letter sent to my house that says that they agree with me and will vote for or against whatever it is I wrote about! :D We'll see what your guy does!!

It's official transit doomsday is here.

$103 for a monthly Metrocard.
$2.50 for a single ride.
35 bus routes eliminated.
No more W or Z line.
Fewer trains.
More delays.
Service cuts in all 5 boroughs.

Tell Senator Tucker that the State Senate needs to do better and you demand a solution to the transit crisis. (http://ga3.org/campaign/doomsday/3588dwdrajbbxi3i?)

Actually, yeah.

You should see the fares on some other Metro lines.

The only downside is, of course, the more self sufficient MTA gets, the less Spitzer and the rest in Albany will give back money to fund it.

(Yes, give BACK. NYC is NYS's cash cow. W/o it, NY would be little more than, say, Oaklahoma.....)

well, the double killer for me is that I plan to move to Long Island in the future.
So I need to take the LIR!! Which is also part of the increase. I wont be able to afford a car because its all going towards metro.

Unless i drive in and pay for parking in the city....it's like the city is laughing at you. And in LI, you need a carto get around. It's not like brooklyn with a store on every corner. (just in case some thought I was being spoiled) :)

The proposed service cuts are spread across the region and are likely to increase crowding on many trains and buses. A total of 35 bus routes would be eliminated, along with the W and Z subway lines. Off-peak service is also to be reduced on subways, buses and commuter rail lines, with many bus routes to be canceled on weekends. In addition, the plan calls for about 1,100 transit employees to be laid off. The cuts would be phased in over the next several months
