Well guys, I was walking by the other day (Friday) and had to stop. "Hey, this area looks familiar! Isn't this where we had the LAN?"
Yep.
'cept for one thing. W2Z is now defunct. The windows are all papered up and there is an ad for "retail space" on the ground floor and basement.
:(
Ah well.

quite honestly, i dont see how LAN places even stayed in business with the growing popularity and availability of broadband.
ah shucks - now that sucks. W2Z was a good place.
Got 2 big LAN places here - time to have one in Montreal :). Think how far your dollar goes here.

@DA - Because you actually got to SEE the people you were playing!!!!
I wonder if there will eventually be places to take your (now) portable machine to play licensed games at. Kind of like taking your paintball gun to a park to be able to play against others for a fee.
But make it so that the pizza place is pretty much in the basement, and the fridge is stocked with some good shizznit (although obviously not free).
Right now computers are still too bulky to ask someone to disconnect and tote to a place you have to pay for....
