Well...haven't been here for awhile. Figured now would be a good time. Anyone been watching the stream? Can't lie, I'm slightly excited. Just a tiny bit.
UT Wiki This has links to the forums, the documentation page, and a quick explanation of what they are planning/doing.

Short version, free game, (not Free to Play), small core group of UT vets, planning to be very open with community regarding development, code and content will be available UE4 developers on GitHub, development will be Windows, Mac and Linux.

i wonder if they will stay true to UT99

but i get the feeling they are jumping on the "pay to win" bandwagon

They have said that it will be free. Full stop. They will be making a sort of marketplace where people can sell things such as assets, TC's, etc, etc. If the item is sold, (the creator has the option to have it for sale or for free), then Epic takes a cut. That and you have the developer license and such, so it seems very feasible that they could do it for 100% free.

I too look forward to playing with this community again. With my 300+ ping. Sigh. :P

                  omg this gonna be looooooong!

Making money with the devs and artists by charging 20$ a month to try to make UT4 with UE4 instead of charging people who play the game. LOL
That reminds me of people making money with the dream of singers, song writers by making contests charging hundred of dollars to participate.

Hehe. She is almost 14 years old. So into the typical girl things. Make ups, youtubers, texting, tumblr, etc. Gaming is not one of them.

She played a bit of AION few years ago with me, but never really into it.

For me, FPS is getting quite hard for me nowadays. Motion sickness kick in so easily. I have to stick with the much slower paced MMORPG like AION.

All the recent fps have a locked ~70 fov. That tends to be my problem.

Me on medz.... So it is weird. TF2 is fine, but I swap out to Skyrim and it takes me a good 15 minutes to not feel woozy...

Will be cool to see how my kids like some new UT! 3 of the 4 dig TF2, but UT has the potential to be a bit less laid-back than TF2.

Man, I havent Skyrimmed in a long time. I walked by one of my daughters playing yesterday and stopped and gawked a little. That is one great looking game!
When you girls are done kissing, I've got some asskicking for you!

I still love UT99, simple, yet it still rocks and you don't need a monster machine to play it on.
Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly and for the same reason

Kick, I think that is why a lot still play TF2. You CAN play it on a 5yo machine NP.

And Bald, yeah, Sky has great graphics. Well put together (not all flash and bang).

I just saw the new Wolf... Reminds me of Warhammer 40K meets Aliens...
