  • Mutemath - Peculiar People

    Just a question.

Listening to it just now, it reminds me of another tune, but I cannot place it.

I do not know if it was from the Police, English Beat, or even Men at Work, but it sounds too familiar to be 100% un-influenced.

After trying to Google it (and getting MANY biblical references) I give up.

    Anyone have any clue?

It sounds kind of Peter Gabriel-ish.

Here are the first songs that come to mind when I hear it.

The Mutemath track you reference is so saturated with stolen riffs from other songs that have come out in the last 20 that ... yeah, yuck. Typical homogenized **** that's out there today.

Lead singer sounds like a white version of Seal.
Where's my redeemer? INCOMING! I'M HIT! I'MA COMIN' BACK!

Meh, I kind of like his homogeinization.

The worst I have heard are "artists" taking two somgs with the same key, meter and structure and simply playing them both at the same time.

Someone running the gym I am at has them on their Ipod and plays them over the system.... Annoying as hell (I thik the Police and BeeGees were on one...)

I will check the YT links when I get home shift....
