    Default add memory

What do I need to know in order to figure out what to buy for a memory upgrade? I've tried two so far, and the computer wouldn't recognize either of them...

    Go to crucial.com

Walk through and see what they recommend. If you choose to buy through them, expect it to cost 10-15% more than other places, but they guarantee that it is compatible.

hehe. I usually go to crucial.com to find out what kind of memory I need and then go to newegg to get it.

Before Crucial was taken over by the current company, it used to have the cheapest price around and I used to order from them.

To get what I wanted, 2 - 1G's it cost $85 at crucial. Newegg wanted $95 with a $25 dollar rebate. Newegg total = $70. I guess the decision was whether I would actually send in for the rebate or not. Sometimes I'm good with those, sometimes not so much.
